The family plan offered by YouTube Premium is an option for those who find the annual plan to be too expensive for their blood.
The $17.99/month fee may come as a shock to some, but it provides access to YouTube Premium for up to six people instead of just one as previously. As a result, when divided between two people, the effective cost is reduced to $8.99/month per user.
If you and five other people share the family plan, each person’s monthly YouTube Premium subscription costs them a total of just $2.99 per month.
Finally, but certainly not least, there is the YouTube Premium student plan. The price of YouTube Premium drops from $11.99/month to $6.99/month if a person is currently enrolled in college and can provide proof of enrollment.
The student plan requires that someone’s enrollment be verified on an annual basis and can only be used for a maximum of four years. Although it is not a long-term solution for saving money on YouTube Premium, there is no reason not to take advantage of it if you are eligible.
